GHK-Cu Overview
GHK-Cu (glycyl-l-histidyl-l-lysine-copper) — commonly known as Copper Tripeptide — is a naturally occurring human peptide found in plasma, saliva, and urine. It binds to copper ions and promotes tissue regeneration, skin rejuvenation, and hair growth, while offering potent anti-inflammatory and anti-aging benefits.
It was originally identified for its role in liver cell regeneration, but subsequent research has revealed its restorative effects across the body — including skin, connective tissue, bone, lungs, nerves, and the digestive system.
Skin & Anti-Aging
Stimulates collagen and elastin production for firmer, hydrated skin
Reverses fine lines, wrinkles, and photoaging
Improves skin elasticity and tone
Protects against UV damage and oxidative stress
Cellular & Systemic Regeneration
Accelerates wound healing and injury recovery
Promotes angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels)
Enhances nerve regeneration and DNA repair
Reduces inflammation and oxidative stress
Hair Growth
Stimulates follicle enlargement and regrowth
Increases hair thickness and density
Comparable or superior to Minoxidil 5%
Internal & Protective Effects
Improves digestive health and may support liver repair
Shows anti-cancer properties in preliminary studies
Reduces pain, anxiety, and aggression
Topical:
No major side effects reported.
Subcutaneous (Injectable):
Localized redness, swelling, itching, or bruising at injection site.
Some may experience mild to moderate histamine flare-ups (hive-like reaction or small knot under skin lasting 1–3 days).
Note: This reaction is not universal. Some users experience no pain or irritation, while others are highly sensitive to copper ions.
(Usually only with excessive or unsafe copper exposure)
Headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, black stool, jaundice, or brown ring in eyes.
Emotional changes such as anxiety or irritability may also appear.
Severe toxicity can affect liver, kidney, or heart function.
Reconstitution:
Due to the limited volume capacity of the 3 mL vial, directly mixing the 100 mg GHK-Cu powder may result in a highly concentrated solution. To achieve a lower concentration and help minimize potential stinging or discomfort during application, it is recommended to reconstitute the vial with 10 mL of bacteriostatic water.
Add 3 mL (300 units) of bacteriostatic water to the GHK-CU 100 mg vial.
Gently swirl the vial in small circles until all powder is fully dissolved.
After the GHK-CU powder has completely dissolved, withdraw the entire 3 mL reconstituted solution using a sterile syringe.
Transfer this 3 mL solution into the remaining 7 mL of bacteriostatic water (into the same 10 mL vial)
Gently swirl or invert the bottle several times to ensure uniform mixing.
Cycle: 4–6 weeks ON → 4–6 weeks OFF
Administration: Subcutaneous injection (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm)
10–20 units (1–2mg) subcutaneously once daily.
Rotate injection sites to prevent irritation.
Remove vial cap and stopper carefully.
Add 0.5–1mL of BAC water until a thick, sludge-like mixture forms.
Mix with 15mL to 30mL of your skincare base (cream or serum).
Apply evenly to clean skin 1–2x daily.
For better absorption, apply under a thick moisturizer.
Compatible Ingredients:
Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E, Niacinamide, Ceramides, Collagen, Elastin, Matrixyl 3000, CoQ10, Squalane, Bakuchiol
Avoid Mixing With:
Retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid)
If injection causes pain or redness:
Rotate injection sites each time
Add 30–90 units of sterile water to dilute
Try GHK-Cu + BPC-157 blend for reduced irritation
Contraindications & Cautions
Do not use GHK-Cu if you have or are experiencing any of the following:
Allergies or hypersensitivity. Known allergy to copper, GHK-Cu peptide, or bacteriostatic water components (such as benzyl alcohol).
Open wounds or active skin infections. Avoid injecting or applying on broken, inflamed, or infected skin to prevent irritation or infection spread.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding. Safety in pregnant or nursing women has not been established — use is not recommended.
Severe liver or kidney disease. GHK-Cu is processed through these organs; consult your physician before use.
Cancer or tumor history. GHK-Cu may stimulate growth factors in tissue repair — avoid if you have active or recent cancer unless approved by a doctor.
Autoimmune or chronic inflammatory conditions. Use only under medical supervision if you have autoimmune disorders (e.g., lupus, rheumatoid arthritis).
Metal sensitivity or copper metabolism disorders. Contraindicated in patients with Wilson’s disease or hemochromatosis (conditions affecting metal balance)
